Police: Body found on Lake Johnson trail

RALEIGH, N.C. -

A body was found on a Lake Johnson trail in west Raleigh Saturday morning.

Police and EMS located the body along the vicinity of the greenway. 

Lake Johnson is located at 4601 Avent Ferry Road, close to the campus of N.C. State University. 

Raleigh police spokesperson Jim Sughrue said the person's death was ruled a suicide.

    The Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating a deadly crash that killed a Rincon woman Monday night. Police say a white 2009 Nissan Altima was heading east on I16 during Monday night's thunderstorm when the driver lost control on the 37th Street exit and hit the guard rail.     Over 4 inches of rain fell in Fayetteville Tuesday evening and there were even some reports of flooding in Fayetteville and Hope Mills.  Those storms moved out of the area overnight but, there's another risk for showers and storms around the Sandhills this afternoon as the rest of central North Carolina is expected to stay dry.
